Korean American GOP Congress member Michelle Steel and Taiwanese American Democrat Jay Chen are competing in a district with one of the largest Asian American electorates in California — or anywhere. The 45th was redrawn last year during redistricting to cradle Little Saigon, home to the largest Vietnamese American diaspora.
