A gunman who barricaded himself inside a Valinda home for over 40 hours, after exchanging gunfire with sheriff's deputies Friday afternoon, has died by suicide, officials confirm. Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department SUVs near the site of a barricade. LA County Supervisor Hilda Solis tweeted on Sunday saying authorities had informed her that "the suspect involved in the Valinda barricade situation has committed suicide."
